01 / A better reading rhythm
The small things that make a long paper feel a little less long.
Physical page turns or familiar scrolling. Adjust the angle, zoom, paper warmth and grain until the page feels right.
⌘⇧BSwitch modesSelect, copy, highlight, underline or add a comment. Export an annotated copy while keeping the original PDF intact.
↳From a line to an ideaEach paper remembers its page, angle, zoom and reading mode. Bookmarks keep the places you want to revisit close at hand.
⌘DSave your place02 / A desk, not a dashboard
The reading tools stay out of the way until you need them. The things around your reading stay close.
Search the whole PDF. Step through highlighted results, jump by page number or follow its built-in outline.
Open Google Scholar beside your paper. Look up the next reference without losing your reading position.
Up to four independent note pads, saved as you type. Keep questions and connections beside the text.
Rename, move, reveal or open papers from the toolbar. Paper of the Day picks the shortest PDF in a folder you choose.
Optional EconFM radio in the background. One click to play; one click to return to the quiet.
03 / Yours to keep
Reading happens on your Mac. Your PDFs stay local. Your notes, bookmarks and annotations stay with you.
No AirPDF account. No subscription. Scholar and radio connect to their respective services only when you use them.
A few useful details
AirPDF 3.10 supports macOS 12.3 or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel. It is a Mac app; there is currently no Windows, Linux or mobile version.
Yes. Use the floating controls or press ⌘⇧B. Your current page is kept. Book mode defaults to two pages, with a manual single-page option.
No. Annotations and bookmarks are stored separately on your Mac. Export creates a new PDF with your annotations. Independent note pads are separate from individual papers.
AirPDF is focused on reading. It does not edit PDF text, fill forms, sign documents, rearrange pages or sync through its own cloud service. Search and selection require an existing text layer; it does not perform OCR.
Open the DMG, quit any older AirPDF version, and drag AirPDF into Applications. Existing reading records and preferences are kept. This release is locally signed and has not been notarized by Apple.
